About Us 2018-01-31T23:06:24+00:00

Acheninver Hostel sleeps up to 24 and is ideal for groups, independent travellers and families (capacity 16 until mid May 2018).  We have two large 8 bed group/family rooms which can be booked for exclusive use, seasonal rates apply.  These large rooms run as male and female dorms from April to September and can be booked as individual beds for £20 pp/pn.  We have an exciting new project coming online in Spring 2018, three custom built, insulated, ensuite huts which will be available for booking as soon as they are in place, due mid May 2018.  Each hut will sleep 2+1.

Acheninver is a walk-in hostel, 300m along a rough track leading down to a secluded beach at the foot of the Garbh Choireachan Ridge.  There are easy and challenging mountain and coastal walking routes accessible directly from the hostel.  Muddy walking boots welcome and there’s a drying room on-site.  We do not accommodate dogs as this is a common grazings area.

We are a family run hostel (Ruth, Calum, Zoe and Molly the Colllie) open April to September for independent travellers and all year round for group hire.  We live onsite and are available to help if needed during check-in hours and for emergencies only after check-in closes, (Ruth is a trained member of the Community First Responder team).  Our dog is still a pup in training, she is very friendly and learning how to say ‘hello’ without jumping up 🙂

Gratitude to the Scottish Youth Hostel Association for running Acheninver as such an amazing heritage hostel for 79 years until they closed in 2015.  We reopened the hostel in 2016 to carry on the tradition of hosting visitors to The Coigach Peninsula and plan to continue for many years to come.

Travel well with our best of wishes.
